You know your characters. You know what you meant the scene to do. The difficult part is knowing whether the reader felt it too.
As a passionate reader and author, I can read from both sides of the page. I'm looking at the story as a reader where I laughed, worried, skimmed, swooned, became confused or desperately wanted to keep reading while also considering the craft beneath it.
My feedback can cover characterisation and motivation, romantic chemistry, dialogue, pacing, emotional beats, scene effectiveness, prose flow, continuity, historical or period feel, and anything else that affects the reading experience. I won't simply tell you that something isn't working; wherever possible, I'll explain why it lost me and what I think may be happening on the page.

Do you proofread or line edit as well?
This Gig is primarily for beta reading and critique rather than a full proofread or line edit. Where relevant, I may flag awkward wording, repetition or sentence-level issues, and Standard and Premium packages include a small sample line edit so you can see how I would approach your prose.
What genres do you read?
Romance is my main focus, but I am also happy to work with historical fiction, fantasy, romantic fantasy, literary fiction and lighter or humorous fiction. If you are unsure whether your project is a good fit, you are welcome to message me before ordering.
What kind of feedback will I receive?
I love looking closely at characterisation, continuity, chemistry, flow and overall reader engagement, while also highlighting any areas that feel unclear, uneven or less effective. If there is a particular element you would like me to focus on, just let me know and I can tailor my feedback.
Do you use AI when reading or critiquing manuscripts?
No. I read and assess every manuscript personally. I will not use AI to read, analyse, summarise or generate feedback on your work.
