I will teach you drums online with personalised lessons

About this gig
Want to become a better drummer without being stuck following a rigid grade syllabus?
I'm Luke, a professional drummer and drum tutor with 20+ years of playing experience. I perform regularly as a gigging and dep drummer, and I teach students of different ages and abilities.
My online lessons are completely personalised around what you actually want to achieve. Whether you're a complete beginner, returning to drums after a break, learning specific songs, improving your technique, or simply wanting to become a more confident player, we'll focus on what matters to you.
I don't believe learning drums has to be all about grades. We can work on technique, timing, coordination, fills, grooves, playing along to songs, improvisation, performance skills and much more.
Every lesson is relaxed, practical and tailored to your level and goals. I'll give you clear feedback and useful things to work on between lessons so you can keep progressing.
If you're looking for an experienced working drummer who can help you actually enjoy playing and improve your skills, I'd love to work with you.

FAQ
Do you teach complete beginners?
Absolutely. You don't need any previous drumming experience. I'll tailor the lesson to your current ability and make sure we work at a comfortable pace.
Do you teach children as well as adults?
Yes. I teach students of different ages and abilities. Lessons can be adapted depending on the student's age, experience and goals.
Do I need to be working towards a drum grade?
Not at all. Lessons can be completely non-grade focused, whether you want to learn songs, improve your technique, develop your timing or simply become a better drummer.
Can we work on specific songs?
Yes. If there's a particular song you'd like to learn, send it to me beforehand and we can use it as part of the lesson.
What can we work on during lessons?
Anything from basic technique, coordination and timing to grooves, fills, improvisation, learning songs and performance skills. I'll tailor the lesson around your goals.
Do I need a full drum kit?
A full kit is ideal, but it's not essential. If you have an electronic kit, practice pad or only part of a kit, I can adapt the lesson accordingly.
