About this Gig
I provide a professional proofreading service including editing and checking grammar, punctuation, capitalisation, verb tense, spelling, sentence structure and clarity. A qualified teacher by profession, I have also worked as a news writer/translator/editor for the state radio station as well as written and proofread for a couple of Botswana's publications. I'm a huge fan of BWWM interracial romance and to help develop the genre, I'd be honoured to work on those.

FAQ
How long do you take to complete a gig?
For optimum results, 150-word books can take up to 5 days, while 250+ word books may require up to 9 days to complete. I do, however, strive to complete work before the stipulated timeframe. This allows you to check the work over and come back with feedback and/or requests for revisions.
Would you be able to format the book?
I would be happy to do any formatting if required. A flat rate of $100 applies. If required, please indicate at the point of placing your order. Please add 2 extra $50 gigs as well and indicate your preference in terms of spacing, font size and the specific font type you prefer.
Are you able to expand on and make my book more interesting?
No, this is not a service I offer.
Would you consider working on any other genre besides BWWM romance?
I might just do but I really prefer to focus on this genre. However, I do welcome enquiries on a case by case basis.
Can you work with US/UK English?
I work predominantly with UK English but the majority of authors I've worked with are American and prefer US English. Please indicate your preference when placing your order. I must highlight I don't work with very old English as it's not an area I'm familiar or comfortable with.
So, what exactly does your proofreading and editing gig entail?
I will scrutinise and highlight punctuation, spelling and vocabulary errors and suggest how best to rectify the errors identified. I have to stress: I will not rewrite any amount of work within the perimeters of this gig as has previously been requested by some customers.
I’m not looking to have my book proofread or edited. Instead, I’d like your opinion on its readiness to go to market. Are you able to help?
Yes, I’m happy to highlight any inconsistencies and discrepancies I spot. I’ll also give my honest opinion on character development, the chemistry between the h/H, the quality of the plotline. This is not included in the proofreading/editing package. Please request a custom order.
My book is way shorter than the specified 150 pages. Are you able to work on it?
Yes, I’m happy to revise the standard price list based on a case by case basis. As a guide, the standard $25 may apply. For these types of requests, please request a custom order.
I’d like a combination of proofreading and analysis on whether my book is ready to publish. Are you able to do all this within the same gig?
I’d be delighted to do so for you. However, the price will vary from book to book based on the quality, length and overall complexity of each book. As such, I ask that you request a custom order.
Do you do book reviews?
I'm an avid reader and regularly leave HONEST reviews on Amazon. I have previously charged for submitting reviews and would happily do it if requested. Please reach out and enquire.
