I will install and harden hermes agent on your vps or home server

About this gig
Hermes Agent installs with one line. Getting it running reliably is the part that takes time: a gateway that won't start, a Telegram bot that never replies, a service that dies on reboot, or an agent running as root with your API keys exposed.
I run Linux hosting for a living and self-host my own stack. I'll set Hermes up properly and hand it back in working order.
What you get:
- Hermes installed as a dedicated non-root user
- Your model provider connected (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, Nous Portal, DeepSeek or a local endpoint)
- Messaging gateway (Telegram, Discord, Slack, etc.) running as a systemd service that survives reboots
- Basic hardening: SSH keys only, firewall, fail2ban, no public ports unless needed
- Backups of config and memory
- A tested chat and a written handover doc: what's where, how to update, and how to fix the common faults
You give me SSH access, and you revoke it when we're done.

FAQ
What do I need to provide?
A Linux server or VPS (Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 preferred, 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM is plenty), SSH access, an API key for your model provider, and bot tokens for any messaging apps. I'll tell you exactly how to create each one.
How do you get access? Is it safe?
You add my SSH public key to the server and remove it when we're done. Please don't send passwords or API keys in plain chat. I'll show you how to put keys on the server yourself if you prefer.
I don't have a server. Which one should I get?
Any small VPS works (Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Vultr, Contabo and so on), usually US$5 to $10 a month. I'll recommend one based on where you are. Add the VPS provisioning extra if you'd like me to set it up.
Can you install it on my Windows PC or Mac instead?
Yes, on macOS or Windows via WSL2, but it only runs while that machine is awake. For a 24/7 agent, a VPS is the better choice.
Do you cover model or API costs?
No. You pay your provider (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, Nous Portal and so on) directly. I'll set it up to suit your budget.
I'm moving from OpenClaw. Will I lose my setup?
No. I'll run `hermes claw migrate` with a dry run first, then rebuild what doesn't carry over automatically: cron jobs, script paths and bot tokens.
My Hermes is already installed but broken. Can you fix it?
Yes. Order Basic and tell me what's wrong. Gateway, Telegram and provider faults are the usual suspects.
Are you affiliated with Nous Research?
No. I'm an independent sysadmin.
