Are you actually certified, and can I verify it?
Yes. Active AAPC certification valid through 2027, plus OMS coding certification from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons through 2028. I also hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). Ask me for the credential details any time.
How do you handle HIPAA and patient data?
Minimum-necessary access only. I work inside your EHR or your secure transfer, never personal storage, and no PHI goes through email or chat. Send de-identified samples if you want to test me first. Happy to sign an NDA or BAA.
What do you need from me to get started?
Coder-level access to your EHR or PM system, your payer mix, and any provider-specific rules. If access takes time, send charts as secure files. I run a 10-20 chart calibration batch first so we agree on style before full volume.
What if the documentation does not support a code?
I do not guess. Anything I cannot code from the note as written goes into a query log naming the specific gap and what would support the code. You get that log with every delivery, so nothing is silently upcoded or downcoded.
Which EHR systems and specialties do you cover?
athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, Office Ally, Practice Fusion, CareCloud, and Epic or Cerner for inpatient. Specialties include family medicine, psychiatry, pain management, wound care, podiatry, urgent care, OB/GYN, GI and HCC.
