About this Gig
I do not use AI!
I take my 20+ years of being a book lover, my 6+ years of professional editing experience and my 11+ years of writing experience to help you troubleshoot your novel. Character arcs, plot arcs, or little seemingly insignificant threads, I will help you make your book the best it can be.
What you get:
- A mix of editorial and knee-jerk in line comments throughout your document. Please do not expect a set amount or type of comments. Every critique is tailored to the author and book.
Note: Knee-jerk reactions are how I process the story/emotional response to the scene. They might not make sense and seem inaccurate for the moment. Don't fret, those are just my notes.
- A separate beta critique that is 600+ words. If you include a questionnaire, I will work on that instead of a critique. Sometimes I'll combine them, if applicable.
Please do not expect a set number/type of comments, or specific summary length. I do not accept erotica. I do accept Google Docs through a public link, but will only discuss the book/contact you on the order form as per TOS. If you have a questionnaire, I will mix my usual critique with your questions.

FAQ
Do you fix typos, sentences etc.?
See extras! Due to popular demand, I have added this option. BUT! Normally, this is a constructive critique of your book in its current state. Sometimes, I will fix things or give examples if I see repeated issues, but this is at my digression and shouldn't be expected.
What's the Process?
I have the latest version of MS Word, in line comments/track changes on. A separate critique OR a critique that is combo with a questionnaire.
Do you beta read short stories?
You bet! I tend to look to the more technical side of writing or I will look at the spots you direct me to as short stories are so little and subjective. I have ten years of experience in writing and editing short fiction.
It says you specialize in YA?
That's just how Fiverr does the categories. I will accept any and everything except for erotica. YA is the most common genre I beta read and edit.
Do you read Google Docs?
I do! It must be a shareable public link (no email required) that allows editing or suggestions. That way I can comment on the file. All discussion of the book will be on the order form or messages.
What do you LIKE to read?
Most anything. I don't care for erotica and seem to easily confuse myself at anything heavy military/governmental/political fiction or astrophysics/heavy sci-fi. If your story has those elements, don't be surprised if my critique reflects my confusion. I do my best, but some things go over my head.
Do you really read my whole book?
Yes. I do. Like any reader I might miss things, not register things, or not get a plot point for any reason. It happens, and if it happens to you, just kindly point me in the direction of where you think I misread and I'll take another look. :)
Comments? What to expect?
A mix of reading reactions and editorial throughout the document. Confused by which is which? Just ask. Don't expect a certain number/specific type. Treat comments as a real time processing of your book as I read through.
Do you accept questions after the order is complete?
Yes! I love discussing a book after the fact with an author. If you have questions you forgot to add to the form during the order process, just ask after the fact or while the order is in progress. If I forget them (which happens) just kindly point to it again and I'll answer it for you. :)
Book Blurb?
I can't guarantee it'll be perfect and ready for the back cover, but I can guarantee that it'll be a good jumping off point/rough draft for your back cover.
