CSV validation: I check your CSV against your agreed rules and tell you exactly what fails, using Python and pandas.
Every package includes:
- Checked CSV file
- Separate exceptions list identifying every failed source row and why
- Before/after record counts
I don't guess at bad data. Where values are missing, ambiguous or contradictory, I flag them in a separate exceptions list so you decide; silently filling gaps hides bad data inside a file that looks clean.
Checks can cover required fields, numeric values, dates, duplicate keys and formatting. Corrections and treatment of failed rows are agreed before work starts; original input is preserved.
Basic: 100 rows/10 columns, 2 days. Standard: 5,000 rows/20 columns, 3 days. Premium: 10,000 rows/30 columns, 4 days. One item means one source row; one revision under the original rules.
Send a redacted sample and your rules before ordering. My proof consists of personal projects, not paid-client work. No OCR, scanned PDFs, mixed-layout extraction or platform import. Do not send passwords, API secrets or highly sensitive personal data.
FAQ
What file types do you accept?
CSV and simple XLSX tables, after sample review. I can return CSV or a simple XLSX table as agreed. Macros, complex formulas, multi-sheet logic and advanced styling are outside this gig.
Will you change ambiguous values automatically?
No. We agree correction rules before work starts. I flag unresolved values for review rather than guessing or silently deleting them.
Can you handle more than 5,000 items?
Premium covers up to 10,000 items and 30 columns. Please message me before ordering so I can review an anonymized sample and confirm scope. Larger or more complex work may be declined.
Do you import data into Shopify or WooCommerce?
No. I deliver the agreed cleaned CSV and reports. You remain responsible for platform mapping, testing and import. Platform credentials are not needed.
Do you accept sensitive or private data?
Use an anonymized sample and share only necessary data you are authorized to provide. Do not send passwords, API secrets, customer secrets or highly sensitive personal data. I may decline files with sensitive-data handling risks.
