I will review your design for manufacturability dfm and dfa

About this gig
Tooling changes after design freeze are expensive as well quality issue during production. Finding out your part cannot be assembled the way it was designed is expensive.
A DFM/DFA review before you commit to tooling or production can save you multiples of what it costs.
I bring 20+ years of product dev. experience across automotive, LED lighting, and industrial sectors. I have sat in supplier reviews, managed tooling launches, and signed off production parts. I know what to look for and I know the difference between a theoretical problem and one that will actually cost you money.
What I deliver:
Written DFM report with findings ranked by severity and cost impact
Annotated screenshots or PDF markup of your model/drawing
Specific recommendations for each issue (not just "this is wrong" but "here is what to change and why")
Optional follow-up call to discuss findings
Review scope includes:
Injection molding: draft, wall thickness, sink marks, parting line, tooling direction and slider.
CNC: tool access, fixturing, tolerance stack-up, unnecessary tight tolerances
Sheet metal: bend radii, flat pattern issues, forming feasibility
Assembly: Assy sequence check,
Delivery style preference
Please inform the freelancer of any preferences or concerns regarding the use of AI tools in the completion and/or delivery of your order.

FAQ
What file formats do you accept for the review?
STEP, IGES, or native CATIA. 2D drawing can help to give additional info but without 3D i can give you just basic check
Do you provide specific fixes or just identify problems?
Both. For every issue I identify, I provide a specific recommendation, what to change, how much, and why. You will not receive a vague report.
At what stage of design should I request a DFM review?
Ideally as soon as you have matured 3D geometry. Ussualy before tooling kick-off is a must. However I can review at any stage, even reviewing a part already in tooling to understand what risks remain
Can you review a design that is already in production?
Yes. If you are experiencing quality or assembly issues I can review the design and identify root causes and potential design improvements.
After DFM can you improve my design to fix issues found?
Yes i can but it's not included in this std service. Let's talk and move forward in what you need
