About this Gig
I've been an avid reader for more than a decade. I'm also in multiple reader groups on social media, to stay up-to-date with trends and other readers' sentiments.
Gig: Beta Reading with Inline comments and a Reader Report.
I give my honest initial reactions through inline comments and provide a reader report after a full read.
For inline comments, I like to sprinkle in notes that sound like a friend reacting to the story or characters. I think it helps verify if the scene achieves its intended impact.
The reader report answers the questions below. If you have other questions, please feel free to message me!
- Was I bored in any part of the story?
- - Were there parts or chapters where I wanted more? How was the overall pacing of the story?
- Were there any parts or chapters where I was confused?
- Was the overall story satisfying?
- Did I understand where the characters were coming from? Were the main character arcs satisfying?
- What genre/subgenre did I feel the story fell into?
I know how important and how hard it is to get honest feedback. My aim is to provide authors with an affordable service that offers valuable insights, constructive criticism, and encouraging comments.

FAQ
Do check for typos/grammar/spelling mistakes?
I always highlight all mistakes I find through an in-line comment. I also highlight repetitive words. But my focus would be on the overall flow of the story.
What kind of feedback do you provide?
I focus more on developmental/manuscript critique style of feedback. - When the main character did/said [plot point], the main character came off... - In Chapter 1, the main character reacted like ... but in the middle of the story he ... It felt out of character.
Do you accept incomplete stories?
Yes, but I highly reccommend works that are at least 10k words and have continous/uninterrupted chapters. It's hard to give feedback on a works that skip chapters (i.e. prologue then straight to chapyer 10) because it ruins the build up and pacing for me.
Favorite Genres / Authors
Currently loving contemporary romance, romcoms, and a touch of dark romance. Current Favorites: Tessa Bailey, SJ Tilly, Ali Hazelwood, Lucy Score, Ana Huang I also read other romance subgenres fantasy, pnr, shifter (Nalini Singh), historical (Lisa Kleypas), instalove (Hope Ford), etc.
Favorite Tropes
Love grumpy/sunshine, soft spot for her, jealous/possessive hero, and will burn the world down for her.
Do you read explicit content? SA?
Yes, as long as it is consensual. I read erotica, but not on-page detailed sexual abuse. I'll most likely skip/skim it and that won't be fair to the author. Anything off-page or not too graphic is fine. Violence is fine.
Do you read RH?
No. I won’t be able to give detailed genre-related suggestions in that genre. I tried Tangled in Tinsel and it was okay, but I find I still enjoy simple MF more.
Do you read sweet/clean/wholesome?
Yes. I enjoyed Emma St. Clair's Love Cliches series. But I don't have any experience in Christian fiction, and I feel uncomfortable giving feedback on that genre -- only because I am not familiar with it and don't know the standards of the genre.
Do you read dark romance?
Yes. I loved SJ Tilly's The Alliance series. But! I am avoiding Haunting/Hunting Adeline.
Do you have any triggers?
Yes. I avoid books with on-page detailed sexual abuse and/or animal abuse, but I'm okay if it's off-page or not detailed. I avoid reading racist and/or sexist main characters, especially if it's the main point of view the story is told.
