Is this proofreading or copyediting?
No. This is a developmental editorial assessment focused on structure, clarity, chapter purpose, reader promise, flow, and revision priorities. Proofreading or copyediting is a separate service.
What types of nonfiction do you review?
I can review practical nonfiction such as self-help, business, memoir, education, personal development, and author-led instructional books. Message me first if your topic is highly technical or regulated.
What do you need from me before starting?
Send the manuscript or agreed sample, word count, topic, target reader, publishing route, book promise, comparable titles if available, and the questions you want the assessment to answer.
Will you rewrite my manuscript?
No. I provide editorial observations, chapter notes, examples, and a revision roadmap. Rewriting, ghostwriting, and a full line edit require a separate custom offer.
Will you fact-check my book?
I may flag unclear, unsupported, or potentially confusing statements, but this service is not exhaustive fact-checking. Use a qualified specialist for legal, medical, scientific, financial, or safety-critical claims.
Can you assess an unfinished manuscript?
Yes, if you explain what is complete and what is still planned. The report will assess the submitted material and cannot evaluate chapters or sections that have not been provided.
How do you calculate the word limit?
The word limit applies to the manuscript text submitted for assessment. Tables, references, appendices, and extensive supporting material should be disclosed before ordering because they may require a custom offer.
Is a consultation included?
A consultation is included only in the Premium package if selected. The Basic and Standard packages are delivered as written editorial feedback unless you purchase an agreed consultation extra.
