What is GA4 ecommerce tracking and why does my business need it?
GA4 ecommerce tracking captures your sales funnel — View Item, Add to Cart, Begin Checkout, Purchase — with revenue and item-level data on each one. Without it, GA4 shows traffic but not which products/campaigns actually drive sales. Connects your GA4 data to revenue.
How is GA4 different from Universal Analytics?
Universal Analytics stopped processing new data in 2023 — it's no longer active. GA4 is the current platform, built on an event-based model instead of UA's session/pageview model. UA's historical data is frozen, doesn't carry forward — a fresh GA4 setup is required.
What access do I need to provide?
Editor access to your Google Tag Manager container and GA4 property — requested in the buyer requirements form after ordering. Standard/Premium also need Google Ads access to connect conversion tracking. Never share passwords — use each platform's built-in access-invite method.
What platforms do you work with?
Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Kajabi, and custom-coded sites. Share your URL in the requirements form and I'll confirm compatibility before starting.
Will Google Ads conversion tracking work with my existing campaigns?
Yes — conversion tracking in Standard/Premium attaches to your existing account and campaigns, no new ones needed. Dynamic value passes real revenue, not a flat number. I can't promise a change in ad performance — that depends on factors outside tracking — but the tracking itself will be accurate.
What is Dynamic Remarketing and is it included?
Not included in any tier — Basic/Standard/Premium cover GA4, ecommerce events, and basic Google Ads conversion tracking. Dynamic Remarketing audience setup is handled by my Enhanced Conversions gig, which builds directly on the ecommerce funnel data this gig's Premium sets up.
Will my setup still report data with Consent Mode v2?
This gig doesn't configure Consent Mode v2 or cookie-consent architecture — see my Cookie Consent gig for that. If you already have it, the tracking built here respects your existing consent signals, no override. Not sure if you need it? Message me before ordering.
Will you provide documentation or support after setup?
Yes — delivery includes basic documentation of what was configured, and I'll fix anything that breaks or stops firing as a result of my setup for 30 days post-delivery. Just message me.
