What does my service include?

- Anglicise/Americanize
- two full passes through your manuscript
- weekly progress updates
When I have finished, I will provide you with two documents:
- Your manuscript, with all of the edits and comments showing
- A clean copy of your manuscript, with every change already accepted
I work with the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS), and if there is already a style sheet in place from previous rounds of editing, then I will use this while proofreading.
I am currently offering a flat fee pricing system: £300 for any manuscript up to 110,000 words.

FAQ
What does your work include?
I use Microsoft Word to make in-text edits and I leave any queries for the author in the right-hand margin. I take two full passes through the manuscript.
What genres do you proofread?
I proofread all genres of fiction, but I specialise in Romance and I am an avid romance reader myself.
What editing tools do you use?
I use the feature Track Changes on Microsoft Word. This gives you the choice to view (1) the original copy, (2) one version with all the edits with in-line comments on show, and (3) a polished, completed version.
How should I send my work?
When you place an order, please attach your work in a .doc format.
Do you proofread in American English or British English?
Both! I am happy to proofread in American or British English.
Do you offer any other services?

Do you use AI to edit?
No. Every author has a unique style and voice, and an editor's job is to enhance this and create the best experience for the reader. A human editor is required to understand nuance, the target audience, the genre expectations, and the wider context.
Are you fluent in English?
Yes! I was born and raised in the UK and I live here, too. I have a BA and a MA, I have been an English teacher for over seven years, and now I study editing through the EFA and CIEP.
