I'm a drummer and audio engineer, a graduate of Berklee College of Music and the co-owner of The Koop recording studios. I've played and engineered drums on thousands of recordings across a wide variety of genres and toured extensively across the US and Europe. Notable clients include: Jeremy Jordan + Age of Madness, An Endless Sporadic, Paul Young, Midge Ure, Jill Sobule, Toshi Reagon, Toyota, Dropbox, Zagats, Volvo. What files do I need to send?
To record properly, I need 2 files (mp3 or WAV): - 1 with ONLY the parts I'm replacing - 1 with everything else in the song - bounce the files from the beginning of your session - include bpm in filename
What files will I get back?
Value Package - raw WAV files of each individual microphone and/or Pro Tools session Standard/EP Package - raw WAV files of each individual microphone and/or Pro Tools session, plus processed WAV files of each channel, plus a custom stereo mix based on the track you provide me.
What's the deal with the Value package?
I want to be able to offer folks with simple needs a way to access my services on a budget, so I offer this limited option. Most of my clients opt for the standard package.
How do I know if I qualify for the Value package?
If the song is radio pop/rock/reggae or similar style and you already have the parts you want programmed in, then it can qualify. If the music is more progressive or complex, or I will be writing my own drum parts, you probably need the standard package. If you're not sure, reach out to me!
10 day turnaround for the Value package?
Yes! To be able to offer such a low rate, I need the flexibility to record when it's convenient for me. If you need something quicker than that, you should purchase the standard package.
