About this Gig
Need English audio or video transcribed to text? I offer podcast transcription, interview transcription and transcripts of lectures and meetings, as a clean text document with speaker names and timestamps.
How I work (full transparency):
- Speech-recognition software running offline on my own computer makes the first draft. Your file is not uploaded to any outside AI service.
- I listen to the whole recording and proofread the draft line by line: correcting words, names and punctuation, and adding speaker names.
So you get an AI-assisted first draft, fully proofread by a human (me).
What you get:
- Clean verbatim English transcript (um/uh and false starts removed, meaning kept)
- Speaker names and timestamps
- TXT and DOCX files, plus an .srt subtitle file in Standard and Premium
Please upload your own audio or video file. If it is too large to attach, a share link to your own file is fine. I don't download from video websites.
Privacy: files are deleted from my computer after delivery.
English only. Clear audio works best. If your recording is noisy or has a lot of crosstalk, message me before ordering and I'll tell you honestly what to expect.

FAQ
Do you use AI?
Yes, for the first draft only. Speech-recognition software runs offline on my own computer, then I listen to the full recording and correct the text by hand. If you need fully manual work with no software at all, this gig is not the right fit, so please message me before ordering.
What is clean verbatim?
Every spoken word is kept, but filler sounds (um, uh), stutters and false starts are removed so the transcript reads smoothly. The meaning is never changed. I don't offer full verbatim at the moment.
What file types do you accept?
Most common audio and video formats, such as MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4 and MOV. If you are not sure about your file, send me a message before ordering and I'll check.
What if some words are hard to hear?
I don't guess. Words I can't make out after relistening are marked like [inaudible 00:12:34] so you can check them. Noisy audio or heavy crosstalk takes longer, so please message me first.
My file is longer than 60 minutes. Can you do it?
Yes. Please message me first and I'll send a custom offer with a delivery date I can reliably meet. I'd rather give you an honest date than a fast one I might miss.
Can I send a video link instead of a file?
Please upload the file itself. For very large files, a share link to your own file on a cloud drive is fine. I can't download from video websites. Files are deleted from my computer after delivery.
