About this Gig
As an experienced beta reader, ghost writer, author and editor I've done hundreds of beta reads. I've scoured over more manuscripts than I can ever count, and have written hundreds of university level detailed reports on paper for clients. After all this time though, I've found a unique angle to beta reading that both myself, and people I've done this for seem to enjoy!
Usually when someone beta reads your manuscript, they skim, and write reports (sometimes very general), however they can NEVER capture first impressions. This gig offers the very unique opportunity, to see a 100% honest first impression, as an experienced reader in real time.
This gig is me on camera, reading your manuscript on screen capture for you to experience. This offers unbridled authenticity. You will see everything from micro-expressions and non-verbals, to indepth advice and personality. This is something any written report will never catch.
I've also used and collaborated with many beta readers in the past. At times, they may be very hollow. I've even received flimsy one page reports with only general advice. This gig is an in action case study for your book's first impressions and line by lines!

What makes a video beta read different?
A typical beta read is a written report after reading, (I also offer this service!) and a video read is a real time, unequivocally honest version of a beta read with me on camera. The advantage is that there is no lying, it is me "on a plate." These are not edited, they're no holds barred feedback!
How does this service look like and how is it delivered?
This service is a unique take on beta reading , and is me, live on video, going through your manuscript, displayed in the background! You can find examples on my Youtube channel! (Michael Romasanta) Note: Authors there give full disclosure and permission to post! Yours will not be unless requested!
What software do you use and what format is this delivered?
I utilize OBS studio, one of the most common video capture services, and the delivery will be in standard video, .MP4 delivered and you will be able to replay it as much as you like! Some people prefer real time video integration, as opposed to reading a report. Video format allows that dynamic!
Flexibility on pricing?
I tend to be very flexible! The nature of this gig is built on sincerity and a displayed, honest opinion. I give advice, feedback, offer alternatives and suggestions. This is one sided conversational in nature. "One Chapter" can mean different length compared to another manuscript! Feel free to ask!
Can you also use this as promotion?
You have the right (not obligation!) to request this be posted to my Youtube channel. It is not a million subscribers, however sometimes any promotion counts! This is, for some, a great idea to get the book out there and increase SEO by having your book name across different avenues! It is $5 extra
This is broken down by chapters, but can you do full manuscripts?
Since this is a video beta read, it requires A LOT of space on the computer so full manuscripts will need to be discussed. It can be dependent on the length. I can but will likely be done in milestones. This is more of a time oriented focus as opposed to word count as per most beta reads!
