Looking for thoughtful, constructive feedback on your fantasy or dystopian manuscript?
I am an experienced beta reader with a particular love of fantasy, dystopian and speculative fiction. I provide detailed feedback on the overall reading experience, looking at key areas such as plot, pacing, character development, motivation, worldbuilding, magic systems, dialogue, tension, and reader engagement.
I aim to tell you what I loved, and also what I feel may need more development and why. I react to the manuscript as I read via comments, so that you can decide if the scene is being received the way you intend.
You will receive a detailed reader report covering the most relevant areas of your manuscript, along with the inline comments. I offer suggestions for your next draft and also offer any information that might inspire future marketing, such as favourite quotes and scenes, or any comp titles if they spring to mind.
Sensitivity reading is included with the price (I am Black British, with Jamaican heritage). Please let me know if you have any area you wish to focus on.

FAQ
Are there any themes or material you don't accept?
I don't accept currently accept material that includes detailed, on-page physical abuse of minors. I also don't currently work on poetry collections or stories written in verse.
What format do you work with?
I use Microsoft Word primarily. I can accept Word documents of PDF files. If you send a Google document, I will download it to work on it offline and return in a doc. or docx. format, which can be opened on Google Docs.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, I am happy to consider your NDA if you request it. I will need to review it before any order is placed.
Can I see the sort of books you usually read?
