What is the difference between fixing a paperback vs a hardcover cover?
Paperback and hardcover use different spine calculations, total wrap dimensions, and template structures. Hardcover case laminate files also require additional wrap bleed on all four sides beyond the standard trim bleed. I handle both formats — just let me know which one (or both) you need when you
I don't know my spine width — can you figure it out for me?
Yes. Just tell me your interior page count, paper type (white or cream), and binding type. I calculate the spine width using each platform's official formula and build it precisely into your cover file.
IngramSpark rejected my cover — do you know their PDF/X-1a requirements?
Yes. IngramSpark requires PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-3 with embedded fonts, CMYK color, no live transparency, and specific bleed settings. I handle the full conversion and deliver a file that passes IngramSpark's preflight checker without errors.
Can you fix my cover for all three platforms in one order?
Yes — that is exactly what the Premium package covers. You receive separately optimized files for KDP, IngramSpark, and Lulu, each formatted to that platform's exact specifications. If you need both paperback and hardcover across all three platforms, message me first for a custom bundled quote.
Will my cover look different after you fix it?
No. I only correct print-technical errors. Your design, fonts, images, and layout stay exactly as you created them. The only time anything visual changes is if a design element is placed inside the bleed or trim zone — and in that case I will always notify you before touching it.
What if my cover is rejected again after your fix?
If the platform rejects your file for any issue I was hired to fix, I will correct it again at no additional charge — no questions asked. My goal is an approved file, not just a delivered one.
What file format will you deliver?
You receive a print-ready PDF formatted for your chosen platform — PDF/X-1a for IngramSpark, standard high-resolution PDF for KDP and Lulu. Source files (PSD, AI, INDD) are available as a gig extra or included in the Premium package.
