FAQ
Do I need a professional DSLR camera for this?
Not necessarily! Modern smartphones (iPhone/Samsung/Pixel) can capture excellent data if the lighting is even. The most important factors are sharp focus and consistent lighting, not just the camera model.
How should I take the photos to ensure a good result?
You need 60% overlap between every photo. Move around the object in a circle (360 degrees) at three different heights (low, mid, high). Avoid taking photos from just one spot; you must physically move around the subject.
Will the 3D model be ready for 3D Printing (Watertight)?
Yes. If you need it for printing, please tell me. I will clean the mesh, close all holes (make it watertight), and export it as an STL file with the correct scale units.
Can you process Drone/Aerial footage for site surveys?
Absolutely. I can process drone images to create Orthomosaics, Digital Elevation Models (DEM), and large-scale Point Clouds (.LAS) compatible with Civil 3D, Revit, or ArcGIS.
What happens if my photos have "shiny" or transparent surfaces?
Photogrammetry struggles with glass, mirrors, or very shiny metal. If your object is shiny, please try to spray it with a matte spray or cover it with masking tape/pattern before taking photos.
Can you reduce the file size (Poly Count) for a Game or Website?
Yes. Raw scans are often millions of polygons (very heavy). I can perform "Retopology" or "Decimation" to lower the poly count to a manageable size (Low Poly) while baking the high-detail texture onto it so it still looks great.
What do you need to start the process?
I'll be needing series of Images mostly. Preferably taken using same camera, Background and lighting condition. It would be great to have as much images as possible to get more detailed mesh model.
Is there a specific number of images needed?
Not really. It would be great to have as much images as possible. So we can have more details and less chances of errors.
