I will design precise injection mold for plastic and perform dfm for manufacturing

About this gig
Tired of the "prototype works, but can't be built" trap?
As a hardware startup, your biggest risk isn't just the ideait's execution.
A single design flaw can lead to thousands in wasted tooling costs and months of delays. I help you avoid these pitfalls. As your dedicated Design for Manufacturing (DFM) consultant, I will meticulously analyze your CAD models to ensure they are optimized for efficient, cost-effective, and reliable mass production.
My audit goes beyond a simple check, providing you with actionable insights to improve your design.
My Process:
1. Submission Review: You provide your 3D CAD files (STEP, SolidWorks, etc.) and project goals.
2. In-Depth Analysis: I assess your design against key DFM principles for your chosen manufacturing process (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal).
3. Comprehensive Reporting: I deliver a detailed, easy-to-understand report with annotated visuals, highlighting issues and providing clear recommendations for improvement.
Let's build a product that's not just innovative, but manufacturable. Contact me before ordering to discuss your project!

FAQ
My 3D printed prototype works perfectly. Why do I need to pay for DFM?
A 3D print is very different from a mass-producible part. 3D printing hides flaws (like undercuts or thick walls) that are extremely expensive or impossible for injection molding or CNC. This service bridges that gap, saving you thousands in tooling errors and delays.
What's the main difference between your Basic, Standard, and Premium packages?
Basic: A quick "red flag" report to see if your design is manufacturable. Standard: A deep-dive audit showing all issues and how to fix them. Premium: I do the full audit, and I personally redesign your CAD files & provide 2D drawings.
Do you just identify problems, or will you actually fix my 3D model?
The Basic and Standard packages provide a detailed "how-to-fix" report. If you want me to personally implement the changes, the Premium (Audit & Redesign) Package is for you. I will deliver the modified, manufacturing-ready CAD files.
What do I need to provide to get started?
You need to provide: 1. Your 3D CAD files (STEP, IGES, or SLDPRT). 2. Your intended manufacturing process (e.g., injection molding). 3. Your target production volume (e.g., 10,000 units). 4. Any additional information I need to know (e.g., any exceptions)
What manufacturing processes do you specialize in?
I specialize in DFM for injection molding, CNC machining (milling & turning), sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing (FDM, SLA) at scale. Please message me first if your process is not listed.
My product is a new invention. Is my intellectual property (IP) safe with you?
Absolutely. Your trust is my top priority. I treat all client files with 100% confidentiality. I am happy to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before you send any files.
Is this gig for complex assemblies or just single parts?
Both. My Standard package covers an assembly of up to 10 unique parts. The Premium package is ideal for even more complex products. If you have a very large assembly, please contact me first for a custom quote.
Why do I need to contact you before ordering?
Your product is unique! A quick 5-minute chat ensures I fully understand your project and that you are selecting the perfect package for your needs. This guarantees you get the maximum value and avoids any miscommunication.
I'm a startup with a tight budget. Is the $350 Basic package enough?
The Basic package is a "Feasibility Check." It's perfect if you just want to know "Will this work or will it be a disaster?" It will identify major "red flag" issues but will not provide a comprehensive 'how-to-fix' guide. For that, you need the Standard package.
Does your DFM audit include material selection?
Yes (for Standard/Premium). The wrong material can cause a perfect design to fail. I analyze your needs (strength, temperature, cost) and recommend specific plastics or metals that are optimized for both your product's function and your chosen manufacturing process.
