FAQ
Why use Docker on AWS?
Docker containers make deployment consistent and portable. AWS (ECS/EKS) can easily run containers with auto-scaling to handle variable loads.
How is scaling handled?
I set up ECS/EKS or auto-scaling groups with load balancers. You define scaling policies (e.g., CPU or requests) to automatically add/remove instances.
What monitoring do you set up?
I configure CloudWatch metrics for CPU, memory, and custom logs. Alerts can be sent via SNS or email. Optionally, I can set up Prometheus/Grafana dashboards.
Do you set up CI/CD or monitoring as part of the migration?
In the Premium package, yes – I include setting up a CI/CD pipeline (using GitHub Actions by default, or another tool per your request) so that future deployments to AWS are automatic and smooth. I also configure AWS CloudWatch for basic monitoring (logs and uptime alarms)
Does this include CI/CD?
The packages focus on deployment. CI/CD pipelines (like CodePipeline or Jenkins) can be added as a custom extra
Is Kubernetes necessary?
Not required for small setups. ECS is simpler. For large-scale or multi-service architectures, EKS (Kubernetes) is an option in the Premium package.
How do you ensure uptime?
By using multiple availability zones, health checks on load balancers, and auto-restart policies in ECS/EKS. More redundancy is possible at Premium level.
What if AWS costs are a concern?
I design for cost-efficiency (e.g., right-sizing instances). You're responsible for AWS bills, but I can advise on budgeting.
Can you help with other clouds?
his gig is AWS-focused; I also work with other clouds (Azure, Google) in separate gigs if needed.
What if I don't use AWS?
The concepts apply to any cloud. Contact me for a custom solution on your preferred platform.
