Do you translate into English?
No, your document must be in reasonable English to start with. If anything is unclear however I will query this with you.
What is your experience?
I have had over 20 years' experience as a writer and editor, working on books and magazines. I am also a published author with over 300 books published. I have a degree in English from the University of Wales and a Postgraduate Diploma in Publishing.
Do you rewrite documents?
Not usually, as I do not wish to change your particular style. If the document requires a major rewrite, I will get in touch with a quote for this work.
Do you work with writing by native speakers of English?
Yes, I am happy to check work by anyone.
Can you work on technical documents?
I am able to work on any document to correct those sections in English prose; if there are, for example, lots of equations, chemical formulae etc in your work I do not check those.
How do I know which geographic variation of English should be used in my document?
Generally speaking, if your document is aimed at audiences in the USA or Canada, it should be in American English. For anywhere else, it should be in standard English, or what is sometimes known as 'British English' or 'The Queen's English'.
