What ages do you cover?
I work with picture books through YA, but my strongest fit is picture books and middle grade (ages 5-12), which lines up directly with my K-6 teaching certification. For YA, I read as a genre familiar adult reader alongside my own parent's-eye view.
Do you need a finished manuscript?
Yes, send it whether it's a completed draft or still in progress. A partial manuscript still gets you a full read and honest feedback on what's there so far.
What exactly do I get back?
A full written report covering what's working, what's confusing, where I lost interest, and specific fixes, not just a star rating or vague praise.
How is this different from just asking a friend or my own kid to read it?
Friends and family often won't tell you the hard truths. I read with a trained eye , checking voice authenticity, pacing, and structure, and I don't have a relationship to protect, so the feedback is honest.
Can you handle sensitive topics or diverse/neurodivergent characters?
Yes, my Special Education background means I can flag whether content and pacing genuinely work for readers who process things differently, not just neurotypical kids.
How long does it take?
