What do you mean by "wow" factor? How do you bring that out in essays?
Having edited thousands of college essays, I’ve developed a keen intuition of what gives an essay its “special sauce.” I take several hours with my whiteboard and marker to digest and understand your growth story. I then map out different ways to let your unique voice and identity emerge.
What format should I submit my essay through?
Anything works – you can share a google link to your essay or share a word document. I will copy it to MS Word and send you back my feedback over through it. I will give you overarching feedback about how you can change your story, as well as line-by-line stylistic changes to your writing.
Will you write my essay?
Nope. I’m the essay editor – you’re the writer. It will be your story, your words. I will give you the direction, the feedback, the line-by-line critique, so you can write an essay that you’re proud of.
Why is there zero revisions? What if I want an extra revision?
It takes me almost a full day to leave you feedback, which is why I have to charge for extra revisions. I will leave you with writing drills, structural feedback, and line-by-line rewrites that will take you a few days to work with. What you will have hopefully at the end with a great new essay.
Do you do phone calls or Zoom meetings to give feedback?
I quickly realized over the past few years that my best feedback is given over written, as it takes me several readings to write, rewrite, digest, map out with my whiteboard, and leave edits. I'm not as good at giving feedback over calls, so I give all my feedback over your document through edits.
