I will merge excel and CSV files into one clean dataset, remove duplicates
Excel and Google Sheets cleanup, CSV merging, formula fixes
About this Gig
I merge several CSV or Excel files into one dataset on the key you choose (customer ID, email, SKU, order number), remove duplicates and list every row that could not be matched.
What you get:
- one merged file (.xlsx, Google Sheets or .csv)
- a match report: rows per input file, rows matched, rows unmatched (as a separate list), duplicates removed
- a change log of what was normalized before matching (case, spaces, formats of the key)
Matching is exact after normalization (case, spaces, punctuation, leading zeros if you confirm). I do not guess matches between different names or emails; possible matches are listed for you to decide.
How it works: you send the files and name the key column and the main file. I confirm the scope and delivery time before starting. You receive the merged file, the match report and the change log, and one round of corrections is included.
Not included: scraping, manual typing from PDFs or images, macros/VBA, CRM imports. Ask first and I will quote it separately.
Background: a 496-hour Artificial Intelligence programme at Code Academy (2024) covering Python and relational and NoSQL databases.

FAQ
What counts as a duplicate or a match?
You decide and we agree before I start. Matching is exact after cleaning case, spaces and punctuation. Near matches (Acme Ltd vs ACME Limited) are listed for your review, never merged automatically.
Can you merge files with different column names?
Yes. I map each file's columns to one agreed structure and keep a source column, so every row shows which file it came from.
My files have 500,000 rows. Is that a problem?
No. Large files are processed with a script, not by hand. Send a sample and I will quote a custom offer with a firm delivery date.
