What file formats do I need to provide to start?
I accept manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.docx), Google Docs, or PDF. For images, please provide high resolution JPGs, PNGs, or TIFs (300 DPI) to ensure the highest print quality in the final layout
Can you guarantee my file will be accepted by Amazon KDP or IngramSpark?
Yes, absolutely. I specialize in creating print ready files that meet the strict technical specifications of major self publishing platforms. This includes correct bleed settings, gutter margins, and CMYK color profiles.
Do you provide the Adobe InDesign source file?
The INDD source file is included in the Premium Package. For Basic and Standard packages, it can be added as a Gig Extra. All packages include the high resolution, print ready PDF and the eBook version.
What is the difference between "Formatting" and "Typesetting"?
Standard formatting is simply arranging text. Typesetting is a professional craft where I manually adjust the spacing (kerning/tracking) and fix "orphans" and "widows" (lonely words at the end of paragraphs) to ensure a premium, readable experience.
Can I edit the final files in Canva or Microsoft Word?
No. Because I use Adobe InDesign for professional grade results, the source files are only editable in InDesign. This ensures your layout remains perfect and doesn't "break" like it often does in Word or Canva.
Do you design the book or magazine cover as well?
This gig is specifically for the interior layout design and formatting. However, I do offer cover design as a separate service or a Gig Extra. Please message me first if you need a full "cover to cover" bundle.
How do you handle images and complex graphics in a magazine?
I use advanced grid systems to wrap text around images and create a professional flow. If you have a graphic heavy magazine, please contact me before ordering so I can give you a custom quote based on the complexity of your design.
