Is this a standard beta reading service?
No. Beta readers provide subjective opinions ("I liked this part"). The Narrative Forge provides a structural audit. Using the proprietary logic engine, I perform a mechanical stress test on your manuscript to identify structural failures, logic gaps, fillers and suggest actionable fixes.
Do you offer positive encouragement?
My reports are clinical and objective. If a scene works, the data will reflect it, if it fails, I will tell you why and where and suggestions to reconstruct it. If you are looking for emotional validation, this is not the service for you.
What does a "Revision" include?
As this is a technical diagnostic of the manuscript as submitted, a revision is for clarification of the audit findings only. It does not include a re-audit of a rewritten draft or same draft
Why is "Fiction Only" a requirement?
The logic engine is specifically calibrated for narrative arcs, character agency, and causal fiction logic. To maintain the highest standard of accuracy, I do not audit non-fiction, academic papers, or technical manuals.
What does the score mean? Is a low score bad?
The score reflects structural craft against objective criteria, not the quality of your story idea. A Bronze score with two Fix First items means your manuscript has specific, fixable issues. The tier tells you where to focus, not whether your story is worth telling.
Will this change my voice or style?
No. Voice is assessed and protected as part of the evaluation. Every suggested fix is directional. The report tells you what structural problem exists and suggests a direction. How you solve it is yours.
