Fashion flat sketches, also called Fashion flats or flat drawings, technical flats, or just “flats” in the fashion industry, are a black and white fashion technical drawing that shows a garment as if it were laid flat to display design details like seams, topstitching, trims etc.

Tech Pack, short for Technical Package, is a blueprint created by a designer. It contains all the components and instructions required for a manufacturer to turn your design into a finished product. That includes materials, gradings, seams, colorways, measurements, trim, labels etc.

A Spec Sheet, short for Specification Sheet, is the most complex and detailed sheet inside a Tech Pack. It’s does the hard work and really explains everything to a factory. It includes a technical drawing, measurements of the sample, technical information about fabric, machinery, trims, colour etc.

Bill of Materials or BOM is a complete list of all items with corresponding costs and quantities that are required to build a product whether it’s a piece of clothing, shoes or accessories. BOM helps companies estimate material costs to plan purchases and reduce waste.
