Q: What is developmental editing?
A: It is a big picture edit of your manuscript. I review structure, chapter order, flow, clarity and pacing, then give you feedback and suggestions to improve them. It is not a spelling and grammar check.
Q: What types of books do you edit?
A: Memoir, self help, health and wellness, education and general nonfiction books. If your book is in another genre, message me first.
Q: What will I receive after the edit?
A: Comments and suggestions inside your Word file using Track Changes, plus written feedback on your strengths and the areas to improve.
Q: Will you rewrite my book or change my voice?
A: No. The book stays yours. I give advice and suggestions, and you decide what to change.
Q: Do you offer copyediting and proofreading?
A: Copyediting and proofreading are included in the Premium package only. Basic and Standard focus on developmental feedback.
Q: What file format do you accept?
A: Word files (.DOCX) work best, so I can use Track Changes. Please send your final draft, not a work in progress.
Q: How do I know which package to order?
A: Choose by word count. Basic is up to 3,000 words, Standard up to 10,000 words and Premium up to 20,000 words. If your book is longer, message me and I will suggest the best way to start.
Q: Can I send a longer manuscript?
A: Yes. Message me first with your word count, and I will share a custom offer or suggest ordering in parts.
Q: Is my manuscript kept private?
A: Yes. Your work stays confidential and is used only for your order.
Q: Can I ask questions after delivery?
A: Yes. Message me if anything in the feedback is unclear, and I will explain it.
