Hello, my name is Nora, I am an incoming college freshman majoring in applied mathematics. When I first started high school, I was really bad at math, but somehow, I did well enough on the placement test to be put into the accelerated math program. For the first few months, I did not do very well, and my counselors and my parents encouraged me, or at least reassured me that it would be okay, to drop into the standard math program. But I worked hard at it, I turned what was an F 2 months into the semester, and I finished with an B-, and then in the second semester, I earned a B+. Ever since then, I have earned an A in every single math class I have taken in high school, with the sole exception of my first semester of junior year, when I had to take time off of school due to illness.
