What is the difference between Kickflip and Zakeke?
Both are professional product configurators but excel in different areas. Kickflip is purpose-built for print-on-demand and merchandise — t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, apparel. Which tool is best for my store — Kickflip, Zakeke, Customily or Teeinblue?
It depends on your product type and budget. Kickflip = print-on-demand leader. Zakeke = 3D customization specialist. Customily = AI design tools and templates. Teeinblue = merchandise-focused with design studio. I'll analyze your store and recommend the best fit.
Can I set up multiple product configurators on one Shopify store?
Yes — and I recommend it. Running Kickflip + Zakeke gives customers maximum flexibility and lets you test which performs best. The Professional package includes 2–3 tools. However, more than 3 simultaneous tools can create confusion, so I suggest focusing on 1–3 well-integrated platforms.
Will the customization work on mobile devices?
Yes. All configurators I set up are fully responsive and mobile-optimized. Customers can customize products on desktop, tablet or mobile phones. The Responsive design checkbox is ticked on all packages. However, 3D configurators perform best on higher-end mobile devices which is normal.
What kind of products can be customized?
T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, phone cases, gifts, print-on-demand items, and more.
How do I integrate this with print-on-demand suppliers like Printify or Gelato?
Full print-on-demand integration is included in the Professional and Premium packages. I connect your Kickflip or Zakeke configurator directly to Printify, Gelato, Apliiq or other POD suppliers. Customers design → order is created → automatically syncs to your POD supplier → they fulfill.
What product information and images do I need to provide?
Provide your Shopify store admin access, high-resolution product images (at least 1000px), product specifications (sizes, materials, colors available), your brand colors and logo, and a list of which products you want personalization enabled on. Can I use the product configurator for custom watches, furniture or niche products?
Yes. Custom watches, furniture, baseball gloves, pendants, necklaces and other niche products are exactly what Zakeke and 3D configurators excel at. The Premium package includes custom 3D modeling specifically for these product types. Standard products (t-shirts, mugs) work with built-in models.
Does the product configurator slow down my Shopify store?
Modern configurators are optimized for performance. Kickflip and Zakeke are built to integrate smoothly without major speed impact. However, 3D configurators are inherently heavier than static product pages — this is expected. I ensure proper installation and configuration to minimize load times.
Can I add my own design templates or artwork to the configurator?
Yes. Customily and Kickflip both allow upload of pre-designed templates, artwork, logos and brand assets. Customers can then customize those templates further. I configure this during setup. This is perfect for branded merchandise or pre-designed t-shirt collections that customers can personalize.
