Linux and DevOps Engineer, Server Administration
About this Gig
Keep your Linux VPS healthy, updated and under control.
I will inspect your Linux server, identify potential issues and provide a clear health report. Depending on the selected package, I can also perform routine maintenance, safe updates and minor fixes.
The health check can include:
- CPU load, memory and swap usage
- Disk space and inode usage
- Failed services and running processes
- Available system and security updates
- System and application logs
- SSH authentication and failed login attempts
- Listening ports and basic firewall status
- Docker container status, if applicable
- Nginx/Apache service status, if applicable
- SSL certificate status, if applicable
Standard and Premium packages can include routine maintenance, safe package updates and minor fixes within the included work time.
Premium includes a more detailed review, basic security checks and an extended report with recommendations.
I work carefully and avoid unnecessary production changes. Major upgrades, distribution upgrades, database migrations, destructive actions or changes that may affect service availability are not performed without prior agreement.
Please note: This service is not a penetration test, forensic investigation

FAQ
1. What do you check during a VPS health check?
I can check CPU and memory usage, disk space and inodes, failed services, running processes, available updates, system logs, SSH login attempts, listening ports, firewall status, and Docker, Nginx/Apache and SSL status where applicable.
2. Will you make changes to my server during the health check?
The Basic package focuses on inspection and reporting. Standard and Premium can include routine maintenance, safe updates and minor fixes within the included work time. Potentially disruptive changes are discussed with you first.
3. Do you install system and security updates?
Yes, Standard and Premium can include routine package and security updates when they can be applied safely. Major upgrades, distribution upgrades, database migrations or other potentially disruptive changes require prior agreement.
4. Is this a cybersecurity audit or penetration test?
No. I can review basic security indicators such as SSH authentication failures, listening ports, firewall status, available security updates and relevant logs. This service is not a penetration test, forensic investigation or comprehensive security audit.
5. What access do you need?
Usually SSH access with sufficient permissions to inspect the server is required. For maintenance or fixes, sudo privileges may be necessary. Please do not send passwords or private keys before an order or through insecure channels.
