Can you install OpenClaw on Mac Mini?
Yes, I fully support Mac Mini setup and configuration.
Can I run both openclaw and hermes?
Yes. Some setups use OpenClaw as the channel/messaging layer and Hermes as the reasoning and skill building layer behind it. It involves coordinating two runtimes.
I'm already on OpenClaw. Can you migrate me to Hermes without losing my data?
Yes. Hermes has a native migration command that imports OpenClaw settings, memories, skills, and API keys. I run it with a dry run preview first so nothing is overwritten by accident, then verify everything carried over correctly.
Is either of these safe to run unattended?
Both can be, but they need proper hardening, not just the default install. I set up Docker sandboxing, firewall rules, and (for OpenClaw specifically) the network segmentation that's been recommended following public security advisories earlier this year.
Are OpenClaw and Hermes free?
Yes, both are open-source and MIT-licensed. You only pay for hosting and API usage, I'll estimate that cost with you before we start so there are no surprises on your monthly bill.
