Both, but I lean custom. Squarespace's Fluid Engine and code injection let me build layouts and functionality the default templates can't do. If you need something specific, not just "pick a theme," that's exactly where I come in.
Can you make my site look more premium without a full rebuild?
Usually, yes. A lot of "outdated" Squarespace sites just need better spacing, typography, imagery, and a cleaner homepage flow, not a teardown. I will tell you honestly whether you need a redesign or a refresh before you p-ay for either.
My checkout isn't working, can you fix it without redoing my whole store?
