I will draft cio constitution, charitable object governing document
UK CIO Setup, Charitable Objects, Constitution and Governing Docs
About this Gig
Starting a charity and stuck on the paperwork?
I prepare the CIO registration documents the Charity Commission asks you to submit: your CIO constitution, charitable objects, public benefit statement and governing documents.
Charitable objects are where many applications run into trouble. Vague, political or mixed aims get questioned. I write objects that state what your charity does and who benefits.
What you get:
- CIO constitution (foundation or association model) filled in with your details
- Charitable objects written for your cause
- Public benefit statement in plain English
- Trustee eligibility checklist
- Answers drafted for the CIO registration application form
- Consistency check across all governing documents
MESSAGE ME with your charity idea and I will confirm the right CIO type before you order.

FAQ
Do you register the charity for me?
I prepare your constitution, objects and application answers. You or a trustee submit the application on the Charity Commission’s online form, and I tell you where each part goes.
Foundation or association CIO: which one do I need?
A foundation CIO has only the trustees as members. An association CIO has a wider voting membership. Tell me how your group will be run and I will suggest one before I start drafting.
Do you use the Commission’s model constitution?
Yes. A CIO must use one of the Commission’s two model constitutions. I fill the right one in with your details. If you want changes, I mark them because the Commission can ask you to explain them.
What are charitable objects?
They state the purpose your charity exists for. They must be wholly charitable and for public benefit. I write them in clear wording so the Commission can see what you do and who benefits.
o I need to register a CIO if my income is under £5,000?
Yes. A CIO has to register with the Charity Commission whatever its income, and it only exists once registered.
What do you need from me?
Your charity name, what it does and who it helps, how you want it run, and your trustees’ names. If you already have a draft constitution or a letter from the Commission, send it too.
Can you fix a draft I already have?
Yes, order the Standard package. Send your draft and objects. I mark the problems and rewrite those clauses. If the Commission has replied to you, send that letter and I will draft revised wording.
I live outside the UK. Can I order?
You can order from anywhere. The charity must be for England and Wales, which is the Charity Commission’s area. Scotland and Northern Ireland have separate regulators and I do not cover them.
