I will teach piano of all levels

About this gig
For nearly a decade, I've prepared students for a variety of different musical goals including: recitals, auditions, competitions, exams, and professional recordings. From my youngest learners around 4 and 5 years old, to my eldest at nearly 90, my students have always excelled well beyond standard expectations for their ages and levels of experience. Completely student-driven, my studio values the input of its students and their families, and always strives for excellence through joy and intrinsic curiosity.
All styles, genres, and levels welcome!

FAQ
What ages do you teach?
Any age! But for beginners, I recommend starting no younger than 5 so that the student is able to focus effectively during the lesson.
How do you teach?
My teaching style centers on the 4 pillars of piano success: physical technique, ear training, musicality, and music theory.
Do you need a piano?
Yes! But it's a little more complicated than that. Depending on certain factors, certain keyboards can do just as well as an acoustic grand or upright piano. In addition, 88 keys is the ideal (and standard for acoustic instruments), but not always necessary. Message me if you're unsure!
Do I have to learn sheet music?
Yes, but definitely not before your first lesson! Notation literacy (note-reading) opens many doors for potential forms of study and performance, as well as composition/arrangement, so I always stress its importance from the beginning of my lessons.
What styles do you teach?
Anything! I specialize in classical, but I also teach jazz, pop, rock, and other genres all the time.
What supplies do I need?
Piano Webcam or Phone/Laptop with built in camera Stand or table to hold the camera Microphone or Phone/Laptop with built in mic Notebook to write lesson and practice notes Sheet Music Tools: Pencil, 3-ring binder, and access to a printer for printing materials Well-lit Quiet Area to focus
