About this Gig
Before you invest thousands in editing, find out exactly what your manuscript needs.
I'll read your full manuscript and deliver a detailed editorial assessment showing what's working, what isn't, and how to fix it. You'll get a clear roadmap for your next draft, whether you're preparing for developmental editing, querying agents, or self-publishing.
Your assessment includes:
- A written editorial report on structure, pacing, voice, and clarity
- Character and plot analysis (fiction) or argument and organization review (nonfiction)
- Market and audience positioning, with comparable titles
- Prioritized revision recommendations
- Guidance on the next editing stage your book needs
Why work with me? I'm the founder and publisher of Peacock & Parker, an independent publishing and editorial firm. I've guided books from manuscript to launch for authors and thought leaders, and I trained in literary scouting, evaluating 60+ manuscripts for international markets.
Please message me before ordering with your genre and word count so I can confirm the right package.

FAQ
What's the difference between an assessment and an edit?
An assessment is a big-picture diagnosis and roadmap. I don't make changes in your manuscript; I tell you what to change and why.
Do you work with fiction and nonfiction?
Yes. I assess novels, memoir, and nonfiction. As a literary scout, I evaluated 60+ novel manuscripts for international publishers, so I read fiction for story, pacing, character, and market appeal.
Can I order the sample first?
Yes. Many authors start with the Basic tier, and I'll credit its cost toward a Full Assessment ordered within 30 days.
Is my manuscript kept confidential?
Always. Your work is never shared, and you keep all rights.
