Yes. Electron.js uses a single JavaScript/TypeScript codebase that compiles to native installers for all three platforms - .exe for Windows, .dmg for Mac and .AppImage for Linux.
Do I need a backend or can everything run locally on the user's machine?
Both are possible. Basic and Standard packages include a FastAPI backend for cloud features. I also set up SQLite for local storage and offline functionality. So your app works even without internet if needed.
Can you add AI features like a local AI assistant or document search?
Yes. Standard includes LLM integration with OpenAI, Claude or Gemini. Premium adds a full RAG pipeline and its perfect for desktop apps that need to search and answer from local files, PDFs or private documents.
Can you build the auto-updater so users always get the latest version?
Yes. Standard and Premium packages include Electron's auto-updater so your app silently updates in the background and its just like native desktop software.
Do you handle code signing so Windows and Mac don't show security warnings?
Code signing is included in the Premium package. Without it, users see "unknown publisher" warnings on Windows and Gatekeeper warnings on Mac. So it's important for any commercial product.
