I will design structural foundation and retaining wall drawings
About this Gig
A strong structure starts with a properly designed foundation. This service provides foundation plans, reinforcement details, and retaining wall drawings based on your site conditions and applicable building codes.
Technical Deliverables:
Foundation Plans: Layouts for strip footings, isolated pads, and slab-on-grade foundations.
Reinforcement Details: Rebar sizes, spacing, lap lengths, and concrete cover requirements.
Retaining Wall Details: Profiles for CMU, poured concrete, and gravity retaining walls.
Drainage Details: French drains, weep holes, gravel backfill, and other drainage requirements.
PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING:
Foundation and retaining wall designs depend on factors such as soil conditions, slope, water levels, and structural loads. Please contact me before placing an order so I can review your project and confirm the required scope.
Please provide your site/topography information, available soil or geotechnical data, and primary layout plans. Reviewing these details first helps avoid design issues, reduce revisions, and prepare an accurate structural drawing package for permit review.

FAQ
What happens if I do not have a professional geotechnical soil report for my site?
If a formal geotechnical soil report is unavailable, I will design your foundation using a conservative, code-permissible presumptive soil bearing capacity (typically 1,500 PSF for standard clay/sand mixes). If your local building department mandates a higher capacity, I can easily adjust the foots
How do your retaining wall designs handle water buildup behind the wall?
Hydrostatic water pressure is the leading cause of retaining wall failure. All of my earth-retention designs incorporate dedicated sub-surface drainage systems, detailing perforated PVC weep pipes, filter fabric wraps, and clean gravel backfill configurations to completely drain away trapping water.
At what height does a retaining wall legally require engineering drawings for a permit?
In nearly all jurisdictions following national building codes, any retaining wall holding back more than 4 feet of soil (measured from the bottom of the footing to the top of the wall) or supporting a surcharge load (like a driveway above it) legally requires engineered plans to pull a permit.
Do your concrete slab drawings specify rebar configurations and mesh?
Yes. My foundation packages provide clear, high-density reinforcement schedules. This includes exact rebar sizing (e.g., #4 or #5 bars), precise grid placement spacing, lap splice requirements, and clear concrete coverage dimensions to control cracking and handle structural bending stresses.
Can you design foundations for sloped lots or walk-out basements?
Yes. My Premium package is tailored specifically for complex terrains. I design stepped footings, concrete basement retaining walls, and unbalanced soil-retaining foundation layouts to safely anchor structures built on hillsides or sloped residential lots.
