About this Gig

A default server setup is not a secure one. Open ports you forgot about, weak SSH configs, outdated packages, missing firewall rules these are exactly what attackers scan for first, and most small setups have several of these sitting unfixed.

I'll go through your Linux server and fix the common security gaps that leave it exposed:

SSH hardening (key-based auth, disabling root login, rate-limiting

Firewall configuration (UFW/iptables rules)

Removing or restricting unnecessary services and ports

Checking for outdated packages and known vulnerabilities

A short report explaining what I found and what I changed, in plain language

This is based on the same recon and enumeration process I use practicing penetration testing on HackTheBox. I know what attackers look for first because I practice finding it.

This won't make your server "unhackable" (nobody can promise that honestly), but it closes the doors that get exploited most often with minimal effort from attackers.

Good for VPS owners, small business servers, or anyone who set up a server quickly and never went back to secure it properly.
