I will do unity humanoid rig and avatar setup with mecanim and ik

About this gig
Need a character rig that actually works correctly inside Unity's Mecanim system not just a generic bone rig that breaks when you try to use Humanoid animations?
I build Unity humanoid rigs and avatar setups designed specifically for Unity's animation pipeline, including proper Mecanim rig setup, avatar configuration, and Unity IK rig integration.
What I build:
- Custom Unity bone rig matched to Unity's expected Humanoid bone structure
- Unity avatar rig configuration including avatar masks and muscle settings
- Unity IK rig setup using Humanoid IK for hands, feet, and look targets
- Clean weight painting for smooth, pinch-free deformation at every joint
- Finger and facial bone setup on request
- Mecanim rig setup so the character works with Unity's Animator Controller system
- Animation compatibility test confirming the rig works with standard Humanoid animation packs (Premium)
Works for humanoid characters, stylized characters, and any model intended for Unity's Mecanim animation system.
Software: Blender | Unity
Output: .blend / FBX / Unity project files
Message me before ordering if your character has non-standard anatomy or you need a fully custom IK setup beyond standard Humanoid IK.

FAQ
Why does a rig need special setup specifically for Unity's Mecanim system?
Unity's Mecanim system requires a specific bone mapping recognized by its Avatar system to enable Humanoid retargeting, animation reuse, and Humanoid IK. A rig without that correct mapping won't be recognized as Humanoid and loses access to these features entirely.
What is the difference between a Generic and Humanoid avatar in Unity?
A Generic avatar uses the rig's exact bone structure with no retargeting support, meaning animations are tied specifically to that rig. A Humanoid avatar maps to Unity's standard bone structure, letting you reuse any compatible Humanoid animation across different characters.
Can you rig a character I already have modeled?
Yes. Send your model file in .blend, .fbx, or .obj format and I'll build the Unity bone rig directly on your mesh, including bone placement, weight painting, and Avatar configuration.
Will my character work with existing Humanoid animation packs from the Asset Store?
Yes. Properly configured Unity humanoid rigs are compatible with standard Humanoid animation packs. Animation compatibility testing using real animation packs is included in the Premium package to confirm this works correctly.
Does the Unity IK rig setup include foot and hand IK?
Yes. Unity IK rig setup using Humanoid IK for hands, feet, and look-at targets is included in the Premium package, giving you proper foot placement and hand interaction control inside Unity's Animator system.
Will this rig work for non-humanoid characters too?
This gig focuses specifically on Humanoid rigs for Unity's Mecanim system. If you need a Generic rig for a creature or non-humanoid character message me first and I'll confirm scope and adjust the approach accordingly.
What files will I receive when the order is complete?
You'll receive the .blend source file, the exported FBX configured for Unity, and the Unity project files showing the working Avatar configuration and Mecanim setup.
