What file formats do you accept for the raw 3D scan?
I accept STL, OBJ, PLY, FBX, and point cloud formats (XYZ, PTS, E57). If your file is in a different format, just message me before ordering and I'll confirm compatibility.
What file formats will I receive back?
You'll get a cleaned, watertight STL and OBJ by default. If you need CAD formats like STEP, IGES, or Parasolid for reverse engineering, that's included in the Premium package (or available as an add-on).
My scan has holes, spikes, and messy geometry can you fix all of that?
Yes, that's exactly what I specialize in. I handle hole filling, non-manifold edge repair, spike/noise removal, and complete retopology so the final mesh is clean and watertight.
Will the fixed model be ready for 3D printing?
Yes. Every delivered file is checked for watertightness, correct normals, and manifold geometry meaning it will slice and print correctly without errors.
Can you reverse engineer my scan into an editable CAD model?
Cleanup means repairing and optimizing the existing mesh (still a scan-based file). Reverse engineering means rebuilding the object as a fully editable, parametric CAD model from scratch using your scan as reference.
How accurate will the final model be to my original scan/part?
I maintain dimensional accuracy throughout the process and can do a final scale/measurement check against your original scan or provided reference dimensions.
My scan file is very large/high poly is that a problem?
No, I can handle large and complex scans, including multi-part assemblies. Just let me know the polygon count and complexity before ordering so I can recommend the right package.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, I'm happy to sign an NDA for sensitive or proprietary scan data just send it over before we start.
What do you need from me to get started?
Your raw scan file, the intended use (3D printing, CAD, manufacturing, etc.), and any reference images or exact measurements if precision is critical.
How many revisions do I get?
Basic includes 1 revision, Standard includes 2, and Premium includes 4. Extra revisions can be added if needed.
