I first preserve the source and assess which pages and objects remain usable. Depending on the case, I analyze page headers, tuple structure, checksums, relation forks, TOAST references, schema metadata, DDL and WAL. Valid records are extracted and checked in an isolated environment.
Possible deliverables include SQL, COPY or CSV exports, recovered object structure, row and type validation, page-level findings and a concise recovery report. I do not modify your only source.
