I will edit your medical school application
About this Gig
Professional editing for your personal statement and application essays, by someone who has actually scored applications on an admissions committee.
I served on the Loyola Stritch medical school admissions committee from 2022 to 2026 while earning my MD. I scored hundreds of personal statements and saw exactly what gets candidates accepted vs rejected. I now help applicants polish their writing for medical, dental, graduate, and professional school applications.
What you get:
- Line-by-line edits with margin comments on content, structure, and voice
- Strategic feedback on what to cut, what to expand, what is missing
- A clean revision pass after you respond to my edits
- Specific notes on how your essay reads to an admissions reviewer
Why this is different: Most editors are professional writers or copy editors. I am an admissions insider who has scored these essays from the committee side. I will tell you which parts make you stand out and which parts blur into the pile.

FAQ
How do you count "schools" for the package?
One school = all the supplemental/secondary essays that school asks you to write, combined up to 1,500 words. Most schools fit under that cap. For schools with heavier essays (Cleveland Clinic, Mayo, etc.), add the Additional Words extra.
How does the editing process work?
Round 1: I send your essay back with tracked changes and margin comments. You accept, reject, or respond to my edits. Round 2: I do a clean revision pass incorporating your responses. Additional revisions are available as a Gig Extra.
Will the edited essay still sound like me?
Yes. My job is to sharpen your voice, not replace it. I edit for clarity, flow, structure, and impact while preserving the language, tone, and story choices that make the essay yours. Anything you do not like, you reject in the revision round.
What if my secondary essays are longer than 1,500 words for one school?
Add the Additional Words extra ($15 per 250 words) so I can edit thoroughly instead of rushing the parts over the cap. Schools with heavy secondaries (Mayo, Cleveland Clinic, some research-focused programs) often need this.
What format do you work in?
Google Docs or Microsoft Word. I add line-level edits as suggested changes (tracked changes mode) plus margin comments. You can accept, reject, or discuss each edit before sending the file back for revision.
Will my essay be kept confidential?
Yes. I do not share, publish, or reuse your essay in any form. I do not use submitted essays as samples or in marketing. After we finish, I delete the working files within 30 days.
Do you write essays for me?
No. I edit and provide strategic feedback on the draft you write. Ghostwriting application essays is unethical and against most application attestation rules. If you do not have a draft yet, message me first to discuss a strategy consultation.
