Do I need to know how to code to use your spreadsheets?
Absolutely not. I build "set-it-and-forget-it" solutions. For Excel: You just click a single "Refresh" button. For Google Sheets: It updates automatically on its own. You just open the sheet and the data is there.
Do I need to pay a monthly fee for the data?
No! I primarily connect to powerful free-tier APIs (like Yahoo Finance, CoinGecko, or Google Finance) that provide high-quality data at no cost. If you need institutional-grade paid data (like Bloomberg), I can set that up too, but for 99% of clients, the data is free.
Can you automate both historical and live data?
Yes. My Basic package is for live price feeds. If you need historical OHLCV data for backtesting (e.g., "Daily Bitcoin prices since 2015"), please message me or check my extras, as I can script that extraction for you as well.
Does this work on Mac and Windows?
Yes! Google Sheets solutions work on any device with a browser. Excel Power Query solutions work best on Windows but are compatible with modern Mac versions of Excel. If you are on Mac, I highly recommend choosing the Google Sheets package for the smoothest experience.
What happens if the API changes or the sheet stops working?
I write robust code with error handling to prevent this. However, APIs do change occasionally. If the sheet stops working within 30 days of delivery due to a code issue, I will fix it for FREE.
Can you automate "Buy" and "Sell" alerts to my email?
Yes! I can script the Google Sheet to send you an email notification instantly when a condition is met (e.g., "Bitcoin RSI is below 30" or "Apple price dropped 5%"). This is available as a Gig Extra.
Is the data "Real-Time" or delayed?
Crypto: Usually real-time (or 1-minute delay). Forex: Real-time. Stocks: Most free APIs have a standard 15-minute delay. If you need tick-by-tick real-time stock data, you will need to provide a premium API key (I can help you set this up).
I have a custom strategy. Can you calculate indicators (RSI, MACD) automatically?
Yes. I don't just fetch price; I can code formulas to calculate Moving Averages, RSI, Bollinger Bands, or your own custom math automatically as the new data flows in. Please message me for a custom quote on complex indicators.
Do you provide the source code?
Yes. You get the full Excel file or Google Sheet with all scripts and queries unlocked. You own the product 100%. I will also add comments to the code so you can understand how it works.
