About this Gig
Manuscript Critique (Big Picture Developmental Feedback)
You've written the book. Now you need to know if it's working.
A manuscript critique is a big-picture read of your story focused on what's landing and what needs attention before you go deeper into revision or line editing. This is not proofreading. This is the feedback that tells you whether your structure holds, your characters earn their moments, and your pacing keeps readers turning pages.
What you'll receive:
- A detailed editorial letter covering structure, pacing, character arc, plot consistency, and overall reader experience
- Specific, actionable notes organized by chapter or section
- Honest feedback grounded in genre expectations
I specialize in:
- Contemporary Romance
- YA Romance
- Young Adult (all subgenres)
- Women's Fiction
What I bring that most editors don't: I'm a romance author myself. I understand the emotional beats your readers are looking for and I'll tell you clearly when they're landing and when they're not.

FAQ
How do I know if I need a critique or copy editing?
A critique is for when you're not sure your story is working yet. Copy editing comes after the story is solid. Not sure? Message me first.
What does the editorial letter look like?
A 3–5 page letter covering structure, pacing, character, plot, and reader experience.
Do you rewrite or ghostwrite?
No. My job is to help you make your story the best version of itself. I identify what isn't working and why. The rewriting is all you.
What genres do you work in?
I specialize in Romance (contemporary, YA romance), Young Adult, and Women's Fiction. If your manuscript falls outside these genres, message me before ordering and I'll let you know if it's a good fit.
How long will it take?
Delivery times are listed per package. I always aim to deliver early when possible. If your deadline is tight, message me before ordering and I'll let you know if I can accommodate it.
What file format should I submit?
Microsoft Word (.docx) is preferred. Google Docs is also accepted. Please send a clean copy without prior edits or tracked changes already in the document.
Do revisions come with the critique?
The editorial letter and notes are my assessment of your manuscript — there's nothing to revise. If you have questions about my feedback after delivery, I'm happy to clarify. The Premium package includes a 30-minute follow-up call for exactly this.
My manuscript is over 50K words. Can I still book you?
Yes. For manuscripts over 50K, message me for a custom quote.
