What's the difference between ebook and paperback formatting?
Ebook formatting is built for reflowable text across screen sizes (Kindle, phone, tablet). Paperback formatting sets a fixed trim size, margins, and bleed for physical printing. This gig covers both, since self-publishing platforms require separate files for each.
Will my file definitely pass Kindle or KDP upload requirements?
I format to current platform specifications, which covers the vast majority of rejection reasons (margins, fonts, trim size mismatches). If anything gets flagged after upload, I'll revise the file at no extra cost until it's resolved.
What trim size should I choose for paperback?
Common trim sizes are 5"x8" or 6"x9" for most fiction and nonfiction books. If you're unsure, message me your genre and page count and I'll recommend a size before we start.
What file formats do you accept?
Word (.docx) or Google Docs work best for formatting. If you only have a PDF, message me before ordering to confirm I can work with it.
Do you also edit the writing, or just format the file?
Standard and Premium packages include a copyedit pass for grammar and clarity. If you need deeper line editing or developmental feedback, check my other gigs for that specific service.
How long does formatting take for a full-length book?
Turnaround depends on word count and package selected — check delivery times on each tier. Message me before ordering if you're on a tight deadline and need rush delivery.
