Because they can infinitely adjust in size without losing resolution, vector files are more versatile for certain types of tasks than raster files. The most common type of vector file is: Adobe Illustrator, this file is commonly used in print media and digital graphics, such as logos
Why can't I open vector file?
To open a vector file you need to install Adobe Illustrator, please don't worry if you don't have it. You can preserve/save the vector files as it is on your PC/laptop. Your web guy or your printing guy might ask you for vector files. They will be able to access these files for sure.
