I will edit your tabletop rulebook so the rules are clear
Game Writer
About this Gig
Rules that confuse players kill playtests. I edit tabletop rulebooks, TTRPG supplements, and homebrew documents so they read clearly and play the way you intend.
What I do:
- Tighten wording so each rule has one reading
- Flag ambiguities, contradictions, and missing edge cases (with a short note on each)
- Standardize terms, keywords, and formatting (headers, callouts, examples of play)
- For D&D 5e content: check stat block formatting and flag CR or balance concerns against published guidelines
I run the QuestForge homebrew gig on this profile, so tabletop rules are what I work on day to day. I'm a new seller with no reviews yet, so my launch prices are low and I reply quickly.
AI note: I may use AI tools to help draft or check text. Every edit is reviewed and customized by me. If you'd rather I not use AI, say so in the requirements and I'll respect that.
I don't do: full graphic layout, art, or legal or IP review.

FAQ
Which games do you edit?
Board games, card games, and TTRPGs (D&D 5e, Pathfinder, OSR, and indie systems). If your system is unusual, send it over and I'll tell you up front whether I can do it well.
Will you change my mechanics?
No. I only suggest mechanical changes in the notes. The edited text keeps your design intact.
What file formats?
Google Docs, .docx, or Markdown. With Track Changes or Suggesting mode if you want it.
Do you playtest?
I don't run live playtests. I do a read-through looking for logic and edge cases.
Do you use AI?
Possibly, as a helper. I review every change myself. You can ask for no AI and I'll do the work without it.
