About this Gig
A stellar first page of a novel or short story is integral to hooking a reader.
In your critique, you can expect:
- Genuine reactions to your writing (including in-line comments)
- Sensitively written critique (including positives)
- Comprehensive line edits
- A thorough critique of your first sentence w/ suggestions
- A 100-word editorial letter at the end of the document that summarizes/expands on my thoughts
IMPORTANT: I only accept documents in Word format (.docx) OR Google Docs. If using Google Docs, I will make a copy and share it with you upon delivery.

What genres do you edit?
I am open to editing ALL genres (except for erotica). I have most experience editing: literary fiction, contemporary, thriller, horror, YA, fantasy, and sci-fi. Please contact me if you're unsure!
My word count is slightly above 500 words. Will you still edit my piece?
Unfortunately, I cannot edit more than 500 words at this price-point. Please send up to 500 words (to the nearest full sentence).
Can you edit PDFs?
Unfortunately, no, as I need an editable document to leave comments. I only accept Word and Google Docs at this time.
Can I submit excerpts of a longer work?
No. This gig is strictly to critique the first page of a short story or novel.
