Gravity Wall: Relies solely on its massive weight to hold the soil back. These are usually made of heavy stone, brick, or unreinforced concrete.

Cantilever Wall: Made of reinforced concrete (RCC) in an "L" or inverted "T" shape. The weight of the soil above the base helps hold the wall in place, making it very strong for taller structures.

Sheet Pile Wall: Used in tight spaces or soft soil. These are thin walls of steel or vinyl driven deep into the ground.

Gabion Wall: Wire mesh baskets filled with rocks. They are excellent for erosion control and allow for natural water drainage.
